Dullros 1949 Certhia familiaris -1- Sept 9 Red Mtn, 5300 ft., 14 mi S Hayfork Trinity Co. Calif. I collected while foraging on the side of a small White Fir (Abies concolor) in a forest of tall [illegible] - Fir - Pine - Cedar or Open Forest mature (see gurn D sp. 180). Most of the trees in this forest are mature ones, being a very well developed forest with no under brush, the understory consisting entirely of smalls trees of the same conifer species. This Cooper was alone there being no other birds in the immediate vicinity - but some Golden-crowned Kinglets were foraging high in the forest canopy some distance away.
