Gullion 1949 Totanus melanoleucus -1- Aug 18 Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co., Calif - I bird heard as it flew around the valley in the vicinity of the campsite this morning. During the afternoon I heard another over the upper part of the marsh area - calling persistently. -Another bird was fired upon but missed on August 12, off the marsh area at the S end of the lagoon. On one or two other occasions birds were seen or heard flying over this marsh, but never more than 2 birds at a time.
