Gullion 1949 Thamnophis elegans -2- Sept 2 3 mi. N Willow Creek, 700 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. fuller account see Dicamptodon species account, pages 2 to 5. This snake had tooth marks on its ventral scales and its head area is rather mangled, probably by the mauling and digestive juices of the salamander.
