we worked the open area between our house at the base of the hill from 7:45-9:55AM with the following results. 56-57 Sceloporus variabilis Sam got several and I got these two. My two were from the large burned oak trees. Sceloporus jarrovi Tim dug this large specimen out of a limestone crevice. Photo. Masticophis Saw a large uncolored specimen dash across the west trail up to the tower. Not caught. Continued west on Mex. Hwy. 80 to our second locality for the day which was 6.7 miles E. Ciudad del Maiz, San Luis Potosi via Mex. Hwy. 80. The upper part of the area worked was park-like oak forest on the west facing slope through which the hwy. ran. The lower part of the area was an open acacia field & pasture with boulders bordering it on one side as a fence and on the other side (south side) as a fringe along the hwy. There were boulders, mainly lava, throughout the entire area.
