Continued west on Mex. Hwy 80 into the
Sierra and spent the night at the forest
fire tower at the crest of the road across
the mts. It had brief showers early in the
evening and a good deal of lightening -
must rain we've had so far.
3 May.
Up about 7th and set off to hunt the
area after putting gear away. No breakfast
this morning as it's too humid, the dishes
were left dirty from last night & there's
not that much left to eat. That's all that
appealing.
Fire tower 2.0 miles E. Agua Zarca
on Mex. Hwy .80; San Luis Potosi.
The hilly crest of the road over the Sierra.
Mostly oaks - many bromeliads - although the
funky bromeliads that we found a Gomez
Faras are fewer in number here and lack
water. The area looks like it could be rated as
low grade cloud forest.
There is an auxiliary house for the
tower on the road at the base of the hill for
the tower. The base of this hill behind the
house has been cleared as have two L paths
broad
up to the tower. These cleared areas
have rock outcrops (limestone) and behind the
"house", at least, downed oak trees.
