Continued on into Rio Verde where we gassed up & bought Sadas and then took the road SE to Pedro Montoya, San Ciro & Jalpa. The area SE of Rio Verde is a very prosperous agricultural area. Took some habitat shots 4.4 miles N.W. of the San Luis Potosi - Guerrero State line. Came down through a spectacular barranca of a tributary of the Rio Santa Maria & took a photo of the Rio Santa Maria gorge from the bridge across the rio (looking east) Stepped on the road to Jalpa at a tributary of the Rio Santa Maria 0.4 miles W. of El Trapiche, Guerrero. The tributary is lined with many very large and spectacular cypress. 31-32 Rana Jim saw nine small specimens and I got another plus one tadpole. All from along a stretch of the creek by the road. Jim saw a Sceloporus. Passed through several small mountain ranges around Jalpa and then east of there. Cought Mex. Hty 120 at Jalpa. Came up a steep canyon on Hty 20 and over the crest
