21 July 390 - 397a Callisaurus draconoides : extremely abundant on the flats above the river -- in fact in the entire area between the river and the canyon walls. Curiously, however, we did not see a single specimen of Holbrookia elegans. 398 Phrynosoma Solare : Phlyp found one out at night around the posts & the network along the river when we were hunting for frogs. 399 - 404 Cnemidophorus stictogrammus Many seen throughout the area from the river to the canyon walls. 405 Masticophis bilineatus : one caught while resting on a rock. Sky cloudy -- otherwise he would have been 'hooting'. Turtles : Several seen in a shallow cut off sea of the river after the water level in the river fell about 2 feet. Probably Chrysemys (Pseudemys) scripta gageia . Actually seen on the morning of the 22 July. It rained most cloudy all day long & at night as well. It rained several times during the night.
