17 July. ligua occurs on the flats and on the lower elevations and the cerno + buriti occurs at higher elevations on the cerros. Photo of haitied liguara vitta. left this locality about 2:00 PM & took the road east to Sahuaripa. The paved road runs out east of Mazatan but we dont read i quels went as far as Bacanora for day. Made camp on the south side of the town of Bacanora near the avi fields. Rain clouds building all around & later we have rain from the north which lasted most of the night as a slow steady down fall. 260-261 Addenda: Found -> two Phrynosoma Solare on the road as follow: #260 : DOR 3.3 miles W. Mazatan Son (by rd.) and #261 : AOR 9.9 miles W. Bacanora, Son. (by rd.) Camp was a gently sloping pan & have small stone parmer covered with lowrows burn, leather brush & Thorn scrub. Heard frogs calling temporary from four small ponds on the north side of the road, between the road and avi strip. Got the following frogs out of there pools during a slow steady rain after dark. 262-263 Bufo mazatlanensis : calling from the edge of the water. 264-265 Scaphiopus couchi : two different calls given by different animals: one the usual high pitched drill and the other something akin to a finger being rubbed across a not inflated balloon. The toads were calling from within the water at just above the edge.
