15 July Scattered oates. There is denser vegetation in the arrayer especially the large one on the south side of the amphitheater. I met the others at the crest of the Rio Bonita & Rio Naco drainages about 1:30 PM and we continued on down into Naco etc Chico for lunch. We eventually retraced our road coming in and got the following: Crotaphytus collaris off London along the road. gong west. 3.6 miles E. Bacadehuachi, Son. (by road) 9.6 miles N. Bacadehuachi, Son (by road) 11.2 miles N. Bacadehuachi, Son. (by road) 12.2 miles N. Bacadehuachi, Son. (by road) Also saw a large Ctenosaura hemilopha on a rock wall on the northwest side of Bacadehuachi along the road. Drove to Huasabas where we bought a watermelon and shortly thereafter busted the oil filter on a ranch. Got as far as west as 1.6 miles W. Huasabas, Son. where the oil light went on & we were forced to camp for the night.
