Jim went down into the cave and found
the following:
Synophis mean
The mouth of the cave at the bottom of the
sink hole.
Eurycea sp. in the water well
into the cave. Grayish white dorsally with bright
red gills. Stage 3 according to Sam.
Philip and I looked around the
area above ground and saw a lot of new
birds and I found the following.

Sonora episcopa - 2 individuals
both under the same rock on the side of a
draw above the cave entrance.
Color: Light olive green dorsally and
pale yellowish-white (the larger specimen)
or nearly immaculate (the smaller specimen).
Both snakes exuded a whitish liquid
from the vent when picked up.
Habitat shot & shot of the larger specimen.
Left this locality and drove to San
Felipe Springs or just below it where
Highway 90 crosses the outflow from the
springs. Took a swim, washed some clothes
