10 July Each of these frogs were separated from the others and were calling above the edge of the water. Rana (pipiens group) One found in the water about 1 ft. from shore. Taken by John for frozen tissue & remains to be deposited in L.A.C.M. Gastrothryme two or three individuals heard calling separately from around the tank. Call is a simple high-pitched "baa" or trill. Got back from hunting about 11:00 and bagged. 2 July Awoke at 6:30 AM - just at sunrise over the mountains - to a loud chorus of birds. Stayed here until 11:00 AM The site 14.6 miles E. of Mazocahui proved to be an elevated, rolling area consisting primarily of thorn trees and rolling close cropped pasture. There was a stream bed winding east through the area (the one we followed up to the frog pond last night) but no water either standing or flowing. The following herps were seen &
