Green 1927 Colorado River Lower Cal., Mex. Oct. 14, 1927 very impractical to collect further north. There are many bats which spend the day under a tank here. They flew out in numbers of about 25 in a bunch, it would estimate that there were at least 75 under there. The tank is about 20 ft from the ground. It is on the underside of a reinforced platform of boards that they were clinging to. There were at least a dozen night hawks flying around bright as twilight came on. They all flew high at first but slowly coming lower to about 50 ft. off of the ground. I saw about 6 large white egrets on the river looking N. east from the levee. Also a few great blue herons and a few yellow legs. Here are Red winged Blackbirds and Yellow headed Blackbirds here. I saw Marsh Hawks, Black Phoebe, Scared Rock were & toulbee. There are 29.
