Margunnell-1925 Mineral, 4800 ft July 21 53. July 21 The fourth egg in the chipping sparrows nest has hatched. Both of the adult chickadees aid in keeping the nest clean; yesterday one followed the other very closely in coming out of the nest cavity and each carried an excrement sac. July 26. Yesterday morning found that all the young chipping sparrows had disappeared; possibly a blue jay was responsible as there have been one or two about lately. We found three young in the green-tailed towhee's nest. The two robins eggs have not hatched yet, neither have the Wright flycatcher eggs in the nest above camp. July 28 Yesterday we were away from camp all day and while we were gone two of the three eggs in the Wright flycatcher nest disappeared. When I approached the nest about six o'clock in the evening the female flushed
