HW. guinell -1915 Yosemite, Calif. June 18 are still unbratched and were apparently deserted about June 10, as that was the last date upon which the parent flushed when I approached the nest. July 18 Marmot no. 1338 jw. 328x106 x60x21 The little Marmot died, I think, of starvation as I could find no bruises on it's body. It nibbled the edge of a lettuce leaf on Friday but refused to touch bread, raw potato or fresh clover leaves. I fed it on equal parts of warm water and condensed milk, but it disliked this and when strong enough tried to claw away the spoon. July 30 This noon two of the school girls showed me the nest of a Traill Flycatcher in a blackberry bush in the meadow by the school house.
