Today we saw a huge flock of California Gulls approximatly 200. They were way high almost out of sight. I continued to watch and with out a notice of any kind the flock split and started for the earth. I sounded like a wind blowing over a large fiber and as they came nearer the noise of there wings grew so great that I felt like a great tornado was coming down upon us. When they were fifty yards from the earth they joined circled the pond a few times and climbed out of sight again. I saw no kind of prey after them.
