Green 1928 Five miles East of Cerro Prieto 30 ft. Lower Caly, Mex. Feb. 3, 1928 '1308 Tree Swallow Hd ♂ 22. g Shot over old flooded cotton field. '1309 Western Yellowthroat Hd ♂ 10. g Shot on edge of reed or intules. We made camp last evening. The camp is beside one of the large canals flowing from the Alamo. Around us there is a series of cotton fields, dented and partially flooded in places. There is a large pond or reservoir nearby surrounded by tules and containing many mud hens & ducks. The only road to this place run on top of the levee for miles. I set out one still set last night baited with a rotten orange but nothing was caught. I set out 10 rat traps on the edge of some tules in mud. I shot two Mask Rats but only one had a fairly good skull.
