" South end of Valle de las Palmas 1200 ft. River Calif, Mexico. Green 1928 Jan. 14/1928 Fifty mouse & rat traps caught 1 ♂ + 1 ♀ Peromyscus, 1 ♂ Dipodomys; one long sparrow. Two steel caught one Coyote. 1202 Dipodomys ♂ 63.5g 292-76-43-19 Caught in sand & willows, river bottom. 1213 Peromyscus ♂ 20.5g 157-71-22-17 Caught in sand & arrow weed river botom. 1214 Road Runner ♀ 285. g Shot on edge of road by bush. 1215 Coyote ♀ 16 lbs. 1070-320-170-120 Caught in middle of sand bar in dry bed of river. Woodrat for bait. 1215 Skeleton of Coyote. I took up all mouse & rat traps but left the two steel sets out. The Raccoon seems to come to the trap by the river every other night so it looks like I ought to get a last chance at him tonight with the new 4 trap set. He is certainly clever about going around traps and digging them up.
