There must have been a - about 300 There all clinging in a cluster not unlike a swarm of Bees. When I first shot at had been attracted by their perpetual squeaking, and thinking there were fifty or so, I shot into them from a mere crack under the shutter several dropped at each shot. After four shots I stopped and lifted up the the shutter to get any I had wounded. The moment I opened it I was surrounded by Rats flying everywhere. Many dropped to the ground wounded and dazed of which I killed 60. There was one smaller
