Green 1927 44. Colorado River 20 mi. S. of Pilot Knob Sourc[ai]p, Tex., Oct. 18, 1927 rives this P.M. about 2 miles. There is no more game there than here in fact; the only birds I saw and heard were Brown Pelican and white Pelican. I saw several of the Brown. And eight of the white in one flock. I heard several Toucan a woodpecker and both heard and saw ducks, mudhens Great Blue Heron, Egrets, and song spar ows. Along the river I had to wade, the bank being silty mud up to my knees in places. The 25 mouse traps are still out in the gully of arrow weed.
