Here, lt. 1991 June 27 Bright and sunny at breakfast. I walked Sura to LOC and back in CES, spending some time off trail at ~550 CES where we've seen Lachesis and Lampropeltis in the past. At 1615 h as I walked out to the boardwalk at CES 425, a Porthidium nasutum (242+24 mm, 12.3 g) crawled at my feet; turned and snapped when seized w/ forceps. Walked length of 150R before lunch. At ~1600 h Wendy and I checked the Ozolochris calcaifer clutch at CCL 750, then a new one Brian found off trail at CCL 250- took lots of photos. At 1930h Charles found an adult Micrurus micrurus ( ) crawling slowly in leaf litter, just off the SOC near its origin; writhed and bit repeatedly when grasped w/ forceps, but did not fail display. We walked to CES 600 and saw only 1 Eleutherodactylus ; others calling. At ~2045 h we caught a reddish-brown Septodeira septentrionalis ( ) crawling against the wall of the River Station bath house. June 28 From 0930-1100 h I walked SURA to LOC and back by CES. Sunny, lots of Ameiva. OTS students brought in an adult ? Ozolochris calcaifer that "jumped into an insect net" as they stood around the cage site at CCL 250- and there is a new egg mass there now too. June 29 From 0800-1130 h walked SOR-SHO-SUA-CCC and to the waterfall w/ Wendy. We checked out several sites
