Heere, H. 1997 May 27 Upper Tramway Station, Hong Kong We arrived in Hong Kong approx 0630hrs, having left L.A. approx 14 hours earlier on May 25. Group consists of James J. Patton, Margorie Matorcq, Theodore J. Paperfuss, David J. Hardy Jr., Kelly R. Zamudio, and me. Cleared customs and took ferry to island, then up tram to forested park. Kelly found a Tropidophorus under a rock approx 3m from a small stream at 330m -- very reminiscent of Neusticurus ophipus. May 28 Hanoi, Vietnam We arrived yesterday approx 600hr local time, very little trouble with our 17 pieces of checked luggage. Staying at Institute for Biological Resources and Ecology, courtesy of Cao Van Sung, Director and mammalogist. Joined by Michael McKae and Mark Moffett, journalist and photographer for National Geographic. Visited Zoological Museum to see Pseudoryx, then to market downtown, where various animals for sale - Python molurus, P. reticulatus, Varanus salvator, several V. bengalensis, some very sad looking Gekko gecko, and 2-3 Pararesolution deloustali. Cage bottoms made from old box playing cards.
