Greene, H. 1990 August 9 (continued) flattened on the round stones w/ head facing out, as if basking. Straight-sided, broken off rattle sting. Dining at the Portal store and then left to wool hunt ~1830 h. Clear, a little cool, and felt moist- some clouds and lightening to the SW, and a large yellow moon later in the evening. 22.4 mi SW State Line Rd. on Hwy 80 at 1925 h we scooted a ~yearly HOR Pitophis melanoceus off the road. Kept 2 Sistrurus catenatus, a fleshly hit C. atrox, and a DOR Rhinocheilus lecontei, plus an NOR Bufo olearius. The sistrurus were snappy: initially stretched out and immobile, slightly flattened. Saw a C. uniparens enter a Dipodomyx spectabilis mound when I approached, good way for it to get caught by a sistrurus. At Mulberry Draw we walked around the fence above the arroyo itself, just SW of the U.S. 80 bridge, where I found an adult Eureces obselius under a board at 110 hrs. At ~1500 h George and Jim Ott (a postdoc w/ him) went w/ me to search for
