Heere, H. 1990 November 16 Kenya Airways ("Pride of Africa") - some aerial (continued) views of the Rift Valley, Ngong Hills and Nairobi National Park. Get to the Kenya Customs Office - the guy is way up in a booth, I look up at him - Day "Good afternoon Sir." He says "This VISA is expired," Some discussion, then I passed through w/ a VISA good for one week. Off to the Hotel Boulevard, where Bob talks us into a room, even tho the place is "full" - then to a fine dinner at an Indian restaurant Mike McRae recommended. November 17 Breakfast buffet in the hotel (I try for small portions, having learned via the scales at Mitchell's house that I've dropped 10-15 lbs. on this trip), then to British airways where a nice, efficient person in outrageous dreadlocks looked us over tonight's flight to SFO via London, but sends us to the nearby Pan Am office for their endorsement - no problem, and now we skip all those continental stops and LA, just a layover in London then on direct to SFO - we should actually get here 3 hrs. earlier than our earlier itinerary? Off to visit an Indian friend of Bob's, then shopping, lunch, more shopping, then a last shower at the Boulevard. We will dine here on pepper steaks and Kenyan papaya wine, then off to the airport. Since we now run no risk of the checked baggage sitting in the sun, I packed the live animals there and won't have the considerable
