Greene, IA 1989 July 8 (continued) way out, ~2100 hr, we saw an adult “”shortode”” insornatus lying ~1.6 m above wet ground on the W. edge of the swamp on palm leaves. A few minutes later we saw a large adult leptodeira septentrionalis crawling slowly at the same height in the same tree as last night. On the way back couldn't see the leptodeira, but checked the shortodes insornatus ( 690 +155 mm, 32 g) - gravid ? from which I palped a freshly head-first ingested “”Hyla eleuchera””, gravid ? (S-V 31 mm, head-width 11 mm, 2.4 g). July 9 San Jose, San Jose Prov., Costa Rica arrived here ~1100 hr, w/ a room at the Hotel Johnson, after a bus ride via Braulio Carrillo National Park. Just W. of Rio Frio the bridge is out, so everyone exited one bus and hotted across an old foot bridge to catch another in the town. w/ Alejandro Solizano, met Ardell Mitchell (Dallas Zoo) at the airport.
