5 September Terrapene ornata in mid-lane w/ head outstretched
(continued) It "exuded" a foul-smelling liquid. ~1600h
(after a hard shower) drove to SWKS and back w/out
seeing anything on the road, and hiked for ~1 hr up
the N facing slope at the South Fork turnout. Turned
x 8-10 dead agaves, saw nothing. After dinner w/
the Hardys, Barney, and his friend Tony, Dave
and I went to the "Sistrums site" and back me
-saw an AOR juv Pituophis melanoceus, AOR
neonate Crotalus scutulatus, and a well-dead
adult Thamnophis marciarus at the same spot
on the road where Barney and I got 3 two
nights ago.
