Greene, H. 1987 4 July flight to San Jose. at the airport we saw (continued) a Beachcraft (?) under guard w/ flat tires, and later read in the newspaper that they had been shut out in an enormous cocaine rust. Uneventful flight and back to the Hotel Galilea and breakfast in San Jose by 10AM. Shortly after I started out and ran into Dan Jansen, then had a visit w/him before going to lunch w/ Beth. While having coffee at the Parisian Cafe, we met unexpectedly Mike and Patricia Fogden, on their way to the states. 3 July Forgot this day, which we took lazily. Went back to Puerto Cathedral and photographed crabs. Saw one that had been partially eaten. 5 July Caught a 9AM bus, had a terrific view of Braulio Carrillo N.P. Then a long, slow trip via Rio Frío and arrived at La Selva in time for a late lunch ~1230. At 1616hr I found the subadult Lachesis muta under the Danaea fern, just as I last saw it two weeks ago! Earlier, ~1400h, watched two Leptus longicauda hunting in the Rio Puerto Viejo, from the La Selva Bridge. They dived frequently, seemingly searching undersides of partially submerged logs. At least twice one of them caught some sort of large crustacean,
