26 March (continued)
at supper David Clark brought in a Sibon nebulata from near the AC lab, in forest. When handled it made a rather tight coil, not quite a ball, and "cocked" the quadrates such that its head was very quadrangular.
Forgot to mention that at 11:05 h at 720 m on the Holdridge Trail, I saw a large adult Ameiva festiva moving at a moderate rate (as in normal foraging behavior) on a large fallen tree, about 1m above the ground.
27 March
Walked to 290 m on Central Trail, got signal of Chironius grandisquamus in forest >=100m NNW of original capture site. Then walked across El Swampo Trail & then out Sabino-Espina Trail to 2300 m. At 10:35 h saw a Rana, maybe R. palmipes, jump into the creek at ~2700m. Took a swim in the waterfall near the station just before lunch. Got a very large Sibon nebulata that Craig Guyer found crossing the trail by the AC Lab. Behaved as the other one - head made to very wide by spreading quadrates. I haven't been keeping careful notes on birds, but among those seen are the following (names are as in a mimeographed "Checklist of the Birds of La Selva and Vicinity" by F. Gary Stiles,
