sized moth larvae out of it (Beth has data). She also brought me a large predator scat (Felis onca?), full of coarse hair and a claw - sloth? This was found this morning (< 1000 hours) at the big treefall at ~700 m on the Central Trail.
25 March arrived at ~290 m on Central Trail and picked up signal of Chironius grandisquamus at 0814 hr. Looked for it til 0900, then left w/ Manuel via the swamp trail to the Sabalo - Esquina Trail (by way of cutting across Elotli & the 1973 plot). At ~0945 hr at 1145 m on the Esquina Trail found a large Eleutherodactyls biporcatus active in leaf litter beside the trail. At 1010 hr at ~1710 m on the Esquina Trail I spied a ~1 m Bothrops asper in a hole at the base of a stump ~1.2 m high. This is on the east side of the trail in shade and adjacent to the river. Photos, then hooked it out and caught w/out trouble. Found and collected feces of Felis onca that seem to contain Tayassu fur at 1780 m on the Esquina Trail, then started back. As we passed the stump, I peered in a hole on the south side and saw a huge Bothrops asper, obviously
