Greene, H. 1984 6 July atop a nearly log I can see <= 1 m of the (continued) snake's body, in a hairpin, but not the head. Snake is on the rock edge of the same log as all along, largely hidden from view by sticks and the large Bruneliod. At 1101 hr snake is the same; 27/30; air, 26 C; ground 25.8 C. After lunch I walked out by way of CCC w/ Dare and Debbie Clark. At 1401 hr found the Lachesis muta ChI in the same place (didn't have a receiver for it w/ me). At 1419 hr B. aspy Ch4 is now back in its previous position, N of and a little behind the Bruneliod; overcast; 29/30; ground, 26.2 C; air, 26 C. At 1500 hr there was a very brief, light shower. Snake same; 29/30; air, 26 C; ground, 26 E. At 1530 hr, snake, 29/30; ground, 25.8 C; air, 26 C. At 1536 hr patches of blue sky have opened up and there is an uproar of cicadas. At 1600 hr snake is same, 29/30; air, 26 C; ground, 26 C. After dark Manuel found the Lachesis muta on CES out and hunting a short distance from the hole. 7 July Early this morning Manuel saw the Lachesis muta on CES suddenly turn and disappear down the hole. At 0930 hr I found the Bothrops aspy Ch4 in full sun w/ beads of water on her back, head facing NW. Snake was in a round flat coil and I took photos. It was
