Greene, H. 1984 2 July (continued) radio behind when he checked late last night. at 0901 hr I found a neonate Dendrophidion vinitor at ~500 m on the Sendero El Suampo; it inflated most of the body, formed an exaggerated S-coil, stuck and bit when handled. Palped (nothing) and released it. at 0917 hr found a fresh cat scat at SSU ~740, probably either Felis onca or Felis pardalis, late in the morning found a striped ? Norops capito ~1 m up on a small tree in the swamp. 3 July at 0820 hr the Ch1 Haechsis smuta on the Near Loop is in the same place, same posture V/head facing SE; 23/30. at 0911 hr the gravid ? Bothrops asper is coiled on a fallen log ~4 m off the CCL at ~760m, in a gap. We released the snake here yesterday, and this resting site is ~20 m from the release site. The snake is in shade but bright sun is <1 m away. 27/30. at 0924 hr ground temp in shade here is 24.5 C; snake 28/30. at 0926 hr the snake opened its mouth slightly. at 0957 hr the Ch 2 B. asper is in the same hole on the SW bank of the Rio Puerto Viejo and seems to be in pre- shedding condition; 24/30. at 1036 hr the gravid ? B. asper, Ch 4 still has head facing N; 30/30; ground 26.0 C. at 1050 hr I gabbled a ~1 m long Leptophis chaetilla as it crawled over a mossy tree butters at
