Greene, H. 1984 23 March 15 mi SE Booraville on Hwy 128, Mendocino Co. California Left Berkeley at approx 1345 hr with Herpetology class and two TAs, David Darda and Robert Seih. Beautiful, warm weather. Stopped beside road at this locality approx 1600 hr to check large old logs beside stream on SW side of road. Found 3 Geckonatus multicarinatus and 3 Sceloporus occidentalis under loose bark; two of the Geckonatus were together, and a pair (3 larger). Hendy Woods State Park, Mendocino Co., California Camped here. Ranger says he sees Lynx rufus every year, and sign of Urocyon and Felis concolor occasionally. 24 March 1.7 mi N. Hwy 128 on Flynn Creek Rd., Mendocino Co. California Stopped here approx 0900-1030. Found 1 large Diadophis under a railroad tie in the sun; no food, scuffy skin, tail displayed, released. Also 3 Tachia granulosa, several Batrachoseps, lot of Anides flavipunctatus, and even more Ensotina. Found a dead Thamnophis elegans, TL approx 35cm, on the road. 6.1 mi E. Flynn Creek Rd on Orr Springs Rd, Mendocino Co. Stopped here from 1100-1345hr. There is a dump beside the road, on a ridge, strewn with old tire and car parts. There are small temporary pools, and we found many Hyza regilla: 2ss masses ready to hatch, tadpoles of two sizes, and an adult female. One student watched jade going along small stems, and to end feeding.
