1983 27 February (continued) Quiet but once maybe widespread in Guanacaste. He regards that snake as very mild mannered until heavily teased or handled. Driving out we saw several big Ctenosaura on the road and on rock piles, and a DOR Corophis sp. in grassy part just W. of the park entrance. Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja, Prov. Guanacaste, Costa Rica Getting here is tricky, and we begins at a bridge on the main road going east of Liberia. T N "Hacienda" (HQ for park) dep sandy ditch park Entrance 5th White house aquaduct 25.8 km, 1 hr stream We stopped to cool off at the aqueduct that crosses the road a short distance into the park. Saw a large, fast, brown snake disappear into a tangle at roadside, and a Buteo magnirostris fly to a large tree and perch. Crossed the stream w/ not trouble (rental Toyota sedan), parked off the road where a trail goes SW (I think), 100m past the stream. Packed up to a clearing a few hundred m into the forest where there is an abandoned outhouse,
