Greese, lt. 1982 12 May (continued) at x 14M. Got a peculiarly patterned colovyx as we descended into the Owens Valley (HWS 1159) and a subadult Crotalus mitchelli between the Vista lookout and Darwin Road. 13 May Up at 0700 and on the road x8. Saw two Gophers crossing Trona-Wildrose Road just south of the supposed N. boundary of its range (a ridge/pass), at 9.2 mi (0901h) and 5.1mi N. of the San Bernardino Co. line. Got a DOR adult Crotalus cerastes (several hours old) at 0955h on Garlock Rd. Got a small adult Masticophis flagellum A&R 1021h on Hwy 14. Snake musted and bit when seized (and I tore my pants!). Saw several large Sceloporus magister on boulders and on roadside along Rodrock-Randsburg and Searls Station Roads. Coffee in Mojave; Owens/Ventura Co., California. 14/15 - 1450 we turned trash in a vacant lot on the NE side of Harbor Blvd. Got 6 Anniella & 2 Uta, and saw numerous other Uta and/or Sceloporus. Arrived in Berkeley x2300h. 15 May Gnal Hollow Rd., San Joaquin Co., California arrived here to road Kurt w/ Kurt Schwerle & David Lundell x 2015h. Saw jr. Genhorotus multicarinatus running/ lateral undulating across road at dusk (2032h), and a very large Lynx rufus bounded across at x 2045. Got Bufo boreas (2047h) and Scaphiopus
