Dreese, H. 1982 10 May (continued) and caught 7 Uta and 1 Sceloporus magister . Discovered my camera isn't working ! Got rooms in Newberry Springs , dinner at Sidewinder Cafe , and rode hunted on National Trails Hwy from 1930-2130 h. Got 2 Crotalus cerastes & 1 Coleonyx . Moon still not up when we quit, but still cold and windy. 11 May Riogran Crater, San Bernardino Co., California Breakfast at the Sidewinder, then arrived here ~0830 h. Parked on road to crater, ~1/2 way from National Trails Hwy. Walked around for two hours - cold, windy, partly cloudy. Saw 1 Sauromalus in crevice, 1 Uta, several Uta and Cnemidophorus . Collected 4 Typhlops rufigratus and saw tracks in sand at least twice. Dropped George off at the bus station in Barstow, and ate lunch. Went to Cal City & got room - rained on the way. 2.5 mi NW Mojave (Hwy 58) on Oak Creek Rd., Kern Co., California Spent 1 hour here searching under Joshua tree logs - cloudy, windy, chilly. Got ~15 Xantusia and 2 Sceloporus magister under logs - a yearling & and a larger juvenile F. 12 May 3-5 mi N. California City, Kern Co., California Arrived at dirt parking area on W. side of Tortoise Reserve (coming from Jet Phillips & Nevsalia Rds.) at 0900 and walked around there til 1100. I went
