Herm, H. 1982 9 May (continued) Arrowhead Water, San Bernardino Co., California Stopped here for x 30 minutes at x 1400h, where the flow is adjacent to Natl. Trails Hwy. Saw 2 Sauromalus, 3 Dipsosaurus, and 1 black B Uta. Both here and at Pisgah saw numerous fresh chunks of lava, evidently crowbarred off by chuckwalla hunters. Got a room at Motel 6 in Indio, then drove to the large isolated rocky hill E of Calvilla Co. Park, at the end of Jefferson Street. Spent x 1h at x 1730h here - very windy - saw nothing, ate dinner in Indio, and since park sign at 1945h said 64°F and it was very windy, we decided not to road hunt tonight. 10 May Snow Creek Canyon, Riverside Co., California Came here after breakfast and hunted lizards x 0900- 1200. Sunny and warm then wind down, but more often chilly and extremely windy. Saw a few Uta down low and several Cnemidophorus on the flats by Snow Creek Village. Up on the boulders saw several Petrosaurus and noosed them w/out difficulty, but saw few Sceloporus orcutti and they were very wary. (at Hwy 18) 28.3 mi S. Jucere Valley on Hwy 247, San Bernardino Co., Cal. Stopped here at x 1530-1630 - creosote scrub w/ large boulder piles near road on each side. Saw 2 Sauromalus, several Cnemidophorus,
