Heele, H. 1979 24 March (cont.) 1 juv Pituophis under a large piece of carpet. The Coluber were quick to move off, more so than the Pituophis. The colube squirmed a bit. The two Pituophis I picked up (adults) both thrashed then hissed at struck when restrained. The 3 Pituophis together were facing N, in loose coils w/ heads & necks extended. The adult Pituophis were <= 1 m total length, the colube shorter - ~0.5-0.75 m. 8 April 3 Coluber under the corrugated sheets at Pinole - collected them to weigh & later release. Found 1 Diadophis under a corrugated sheet (flat land) and one under a small piece of plywood near the top of a slope. 10 April Returned to release the 3 Coluber and found 3 more under the same corrugated sheets. All are adults, about the same size. 22 April 1 Diadophis (opaque, collected) and 1 Pituophis under a single corrugated sheet at Pt Pinole,
