Greene, H. 1979 28 Feb. San Gabriel River Canyon (between jct. of (cont.) N&W forks w/E. fork), 10.7 mi above Sienna Madre Blvd., Los Angeles Co., California Wooded, rocky hillside. 1 Ensatina, 4 B. nigrivertex, 1 Gembonotus under a rock. Cold & cloudy, ~5 PM. Base of Big Dalton Canyon at jct. Sienna Madre Blvd. & Valley Ctrts., Los Angeles Co. Urban. 1 B. nigrivertex. 1 March Live Oak Canyon, 2.6 mi SSW Hwy 10 near Yucaipa, San Bernardino - Riverside Co. line, California Pasture bordered by rocky slope, occasional oaks. Pouring rain, ~8 AM. 3 Batrachoseps major, 1 Anniella pulchra / Gembonotus multicarinatus, Uta. The Anniella was just beneath soil surface (as was a moderate size Salopendra) under a thick downed stump (ca. 18" x 4' long). Withed but didn't bite. Kay found the sator lizard.
