Greene, H. 1980/1 1 July Sunol Valley Regional Wilderness, Alameda Co., California. Turned on Geary Rd @ 0830 hr, sky sunny & warm. Lynx rufus crossed road from a steep slope to the SW toward high grass and trees to the NE. I stopped and got a good look -seemed curious at the clicking noises I made, but disappeared as I started to walk across the road to it. @ 100 m further there are 3 Urocyon (2 seem to be pups) on the side, and they also allow fairly close approach. There are literally 100s of Spermophilus beechyi everywhere, even climbing on tree trunks (started, downed ones that is). Arrived at entrance to Sunol Wilderness Park and met naturalists including Tony ?, who is stationed at Del Val - he's seen 3 Felis concolor this year! Drove on a dirt road (@ 3 miles?) to Camp Ohlone, where I gave a talk on reptile biology. On the way found a DOR Lampropeltis getulus w/ obvious food in it - later proved to be a fairly big Crotalus constrictor. @ 1100 hr, as we sat in the shade in an open area at the camp, a large Crotalus viridis crawled
