Greer, H. 1981 22 May Xantusia vigilis, 2 Sceloporus magister, (continued) and 1 Uta. I found a very large scorpion under one log, and caught it. Next drove to "Grasshopper Wash" - place where Kristine Tollestrup and I found Phymozona coronatum - and turned several sheets of tin. By then it was dark (~2230) and we rode hunted via Willow Springs Rd, Oak Creek Rd, Hwy 14, Phillips Rd, dirt roads E. of Neuralia Rd., and Neuralia Rd. Got a nice large gravid (?) C. cerastes w/ir 1/2 mile of where I got an even larger gravid 2 years ago. Also 2 Phincheilus lecontei AOR, which seemed to be actively crawling. Later I palpated the Crotalus to see if her girth might be due to food but couldn't feel anything. 23 May After breakfast we headed for Pisgah Crate, interrupted by a flat in Barstow. First stopped at a black lava flow a few miles W. of usual spot (near Hector Rd exit from I-40). Saw numerous Cnemidophorus, Uta, Callisaurus, a few Uma, and a couple of Sauroides also several Dipsozaurus and one of a large Gopherus. Photographed
