Greene, H. 1980 10 May (cont.) tracks at streamside in the lower part of the canyon. They were in damp mud ~1630 - since the water rises every night and falls during the day, this cat must have come down only a few hours earlier. Ate supper and food hurled 2000-2300. Got FOR C. castes (4), C. satchelli (2), Septotylphlops (1), Ichmanusa (1), and several Coleonyx. Slept till 0800, even though we woke up in full sun. 11 May Darwin Falls Canyon, Inyo Co., California Walked around the canyon - numerous Uta, Callisaurus, Gnenidophorus, Sauromalus, and I noosed and photographed 1 Crotaphytus. Kurt spotted and we photographed a subadult (?) sauromalus ~1/2 m up in a creosote bush taking fast gulps of flowers; the bush swayed each time the lizard moved. It eate for a few seconds as we watched from many meters downslope, and then it abruptly descended. John saw a red-tailed hawk w/ a Sauromalus. Robert caught a claspig pair of Bufo punctatus. We left ~1130, caught 2 Crotaphytus as we drove out on Darwin Road. Saw many Sauromalus along 190 as we drove to Olancho - where we had
