saw at least 2 others. Drove on to Joshua Tree for a very dirty motel, a flat tire, dinner at Arturo's Mexican Restaurant.
Left ~2030 to road hunt between Twenty-nine Palms and the dry lake on the Airway Rd.
Saw 4 DOR Crotalus cerastes and 2 AOR Coleonyx variagatus (one ~~a gravid ♀).
Also 1 DOR Phrynosoma platyphium.
9 May
Up ~0700, breakfast in Yucca Valley, and on S. Got a DOR (fresh) Arizona elegans at the intersection of Snow Creek Rd. & Hwy 111. Then drove up the canyon. Hunted on boulder strewn slopes just west of Snow Creek Village, at the end of Snow Creek Rd. Saw many Uta, petrosaurus, Sceloporus orcutti, Saurornalus thresus. No snakes. Left ~noon, drove to La Cahuilla County Park for lunch and rest. Saw a kestrel fly over numerous times for ~2 hrs w/ a Cnemidophorus in it's talons. ~16:30-1800 on rocky slopes ~1/mile SE Cahuilla Park - saw Uta but nothing else. Road hunted to Barstow via Juarene Valley, got motel.

Drove to Darwin Falls via Kramer Jct. & Trona.

Saw DOR Piliophis (saved) and AOR Gopherus (10:20am), the latter at Jct 395 and Trona Road. Stopped at rock piles 12.0 & ~~miles N. jct. 395 & Trona Rd.
