Frese, H. 1981 8 February of some cat deposited on a fresh gopher mound, but wasn't sure if they were of the feral or bob variety - they weren't especially large (< 15 mm \phi). Saw several dead newts in cow tracks. 9 February Briars Regional Park, Contra Costa Co., California Went w/ Jerry Klein, chemical engineer visiting from Oak Ridge. Went in Bear Creek entrance and up to old archery range (top of hill straight ahead through the gate). Sunny, warm. Found several large \female\ Taricha under logs; several Ensatiinae, including clusters of 4, 2, and 2 very small ones; many Batrachoseps; 2 Anieides deglorio, including 1 juvenile and one small adult male w/ scars on its head (left side, posterior) and tail base as in the ones I photographed from Año Nuevo; 1 juvenile Euneces; 1 juvenile Gerhonotis multicarinatus; and 1 adult Cortia tenius. The snake and lizards were under logs in the center of the meadow fully exposed to sun, while most of the salamanders were on the shady edges. Saw two
