Greene, H. 1980 17 December Went to los Dominicos ≈10:00 w/ Fabian and Patricio Sanchez, head of the Instituto de Ciencias Biologicas at the Universidad Catolica. Overcast and cool, and we saw and caught only 1 Diolaemus lemniscatus. Driving back down a dirt road we saw a caracara in the road pecking and releasing a lizard, which it flew off w/ when we approached. Fabian thought the prey was probably a Z. monticola , and if so it was a large one. Next drove to Jangpa and bought 4 freshly caught Colopistes maculatus from some kids and collected 2 fresh feces from the panel they were in. Had great lunch - fried empanadas and calzuela of beef, squash, green beans, potatoe, and rice- Back to Universidad Catolica for goodbys. From ≈1600 - 1730 searched a rock wall at los Dominicos for Diolaemus monticola and caught 5/8 seen. There was a stiff, chilly wind blowing perpendicular to the wall, and all of the lizards were on the leeward side- more of them were perched on tops the wall, as they were under warm sunny conditions on the 15th. Fabian saw a Philodryas chamissonis
