Helene, H. 1980 4 December 7 km S. Motupe, Ceno la Vieja, Tarapacra Prov., Peru We arrived here ~0830, and upon opening the trunk, discovered that a duffle bag w/ spotting scope, live traps, tripod, flash, Telemetry equipment, and film had been stolen! Walked around and over the Ceno til 1045, and saw many Diwidon and both species of Tropidurus - noted 8. Mark found one and a Phyllodactylus under the same dead cow we turned on our first visit here. Returned to Chiclayo, ate at Restaurant Rara, paid rental car bill (~$670!), checked out, flew Aerobus to Tzra, went to Pensio Alvarana - I became ill very suddenly ~1600 w/ nausea and severe stomach cramps that lasted till I went to sleep. 5 December To bank for money, called Nelly Carillo but she was out 'til tomorrow. Took it easy, as I'm still not well. 6 December Spent ~2 hours w/ Nelly Carillo and gave her 8/21 lizards - she gave me the necessary letter for getting the export permit. Went to the mercado on Avenida de la Marina (Cuadral?) in Pueblo Libre. Back to room after supper, as I'm still a little nauseous and tired.
