Greene, H. 1980 1 December (continued) Had lunch at El Golfo Restaurant overlooking Pacific - cheap food, old nostalgic music. Tooth map, pickled lizards, went to Negritos to talk w/ John Bowling, drove a few km past Negritos (S.) and took pictures. Then back to the Quebrada by El Golfo (between Talana & Negritos) and looked among Dunes (large plants - look so similar to Coachella Valley) for lizards but saw none. However, by 1630-1700 here it is chilly and windy. Went by Julius Boro house (not home), took photos of Talana from above town and went back to Hotel for showers prior to supper with the Bowlings at the club. Nothing seen on road between Negritos and Talana either way. 2 December Up early to be at the school in Negritos (the Belo American School) at 0730 to take 24 students (4th - 8th grades) in the field to Parines. Just after we arrived learned a strike had been called and we couldn't get a bus, after all - typical for this trip! Instead took several cars and went to a closer valley where one of parents (a cowboy from Amarillo Texas) had seen
