30 November (continued) from the literature. He turns out to be a very funny, fast talking Trinidadian of my age who now works here for an Argentinean oil firm. He has two jars of pickled herps, among which are some Dicrodon, a medium Callopietes, a Micrurus Ischudii, an Alophis elegans, and some Oxythrops fitzingeri, plus some Tropidolunus I didn't check out. Says he'll give me the Callopietes and the Micrurus. Says he's seen several big (>= 1m) Callopietes, one of which he cleaned and it ran tipedally. Hasn't seen any Bothrops. Said he'd take us out for the day tomorrow. Had great dinner at the Belco Club w/ Towsys and John Bowling. 1 December Waited overtime for Julius and finally ~ 0830 his wife showed up with the news he was tied up since midnight with a strike - so we set out toward Jabitos. Went as far as a military camp and returned to a big Quebrada (PaiƱes?) we crossed on the way and spent 1 1/2 hours walking about. Saw dozens, maybe hundreds of Dicrodon, mostly
