There, H. 1980 29 November Got up early, but given breakfast, checking out, and a delay w/ our passports being checked. Of the Leno, we arrived ~8:45. 7 Km S. Motupe Cavo la Vieja, Jayayque Prov., Peru Walked around here til ~1100 - saw only a few Dicrodon & Tropidurus. I worked the whole S. side & checked Callopietes site several times but saw more. Saw small green parrots. Mark noted a male T. koepcherum which I kept. As we left battery wires burned, we return to Chiclayo. 2.8 Km N. Jayayca, Jayabayque Prov., Peru As we were driving S. I saw a huge Callopietes at the left road edge, which started off as we stopped. It ran to a dense thorny fence row and disappeared. When first seen it was sitting w/ head high, perpendicular to road edge. This site (which is 0.8 Km N. of the Km 819 sign) has sandy desert it mesquite on the W. road side and rather dense trees on the E. (lizard) road side. The fence side is so dense it's almost totally shaded, and we could hear someone chopping wood. Saw Tropidurus and small Dicrodon in the fence row. after deciding lizard was lost we headed back to Chiclayo for lunch
