Heene, H. 1980 26 June Next left the VW at Pack Creek and went (cont.) approx 3/4 miles up a dirt jeep road, to approx 8000'. Here there were scattered sagebrush flats w/ numerous Sceloporus graciosus. Found and released 1 juvenile Phrynosoma douglasii in the road as we were returning to the jeep. Went back to Moab for supper, then road hunted to Pack Creek and tracks. Got a live Bufo woodhousei and an AOR jnr. Pituophis on Hwy 163. NB: Of the two juvenile Crotaphytus caught earlier, the ♂ had distinctly blue and yellow colors, though not so dramatic as the adult ♂. After approx 6 hours in an ice cooler, I can not distinguish the two on the basis of color, except that the little male has some yellow suffusion on the front legs. [Map Diagram] Moab Grand Co.
