Sheene, H. 1980 3 May (cont.) Stopped Joshua Trees E. of Yucca Valley, saw Uta, Scelopendra, and caught 1 tiny Xantusia. 626.8 (just E. of Joshua Tree) AOR Gophorus. Stopped for gas in Twenty-nine Palms. Owner had lived there 45 years and last year saw first two leopard lizards (ride his description and recognition in my Field Guide). Said one contained a horned lizard and another "with red spots" threw up an "iguana". 640.7 - Juven N. from Hwy 62 on Adobe Rd. 642.7 - Juven R. on Arrowboy Rd. 644.1 - Missed a small adult masticophis flogellum . Found it in a bush, but it dashed out one side and into a hole. Bug w/out success. 647.0 - AOR Dipsozaurus, others on the lawn. 666.1 - Uta, Dipsozaurus, Cnemidophorus. 690.3 - Jct. Arrowboy Rd & National Trail Hwy. Small adult Dipsozaurus eating canion or parentent. Uncertain what the canion was. 692.6 - Chased basking sauromalus into crevice in Black Lara rocks. 724.4 - photo of flowers and Sleeping Beauty Mountain, W. of Judlow.
