There, H. 1980 2 May 9497.4 - saw large Sceloporus magister and (cont.) missed a juvenile, just as sun went over the ridge. They were on roadside boulders. 9497.55 - turn left (w) on sandy road from Snow Creek Rd. 9497.8 - back out, turn N. m Snow Creek Rd. 9498.6 - searched dunes & wash to N. of road. Many ?? snake tracks, no lizard sign. 9499.1 - Jet Hwy 111 , 9537.9 Washington + 38th St. Coleongx 4:30 pm 9542.6 E on Thousand Palms Cyn. Rd. 9546.8 S on Dillon Rd. 4:45 pm 9552.2 Crotalus cerastes D&R (small) 9555.5 Berdes Cyn. Rd - turn up 95[illegible]5 turn-around 9557.4 Dillon Rd, turn S.W. 9561.7 Crotalus cerastes D&R (lg) 16:18 pm 9563.5 I-10 + return to motel. moon (?full) came up just as we found the second cerastes. 3 May Walked around big dunes NW of jet. of 38th st & Washington st., Jeff Kaufmann's old Uma inornota study area. Saw lots of lizard & sidewinder tracks, but no animals.. When we started at 0730 it was cold windy, but by 0840 it was getting hot. Very sunny.
